So, after trying everything that I could think of to improve my Interweb connection I have given up for the time being.

My connection with Orange is now as follows

Attainable download rate (kbps): 1664
Downstream Rate (kbps): 1504
Upstream Rate (kbps): 448

A little bit better than it was but still nothing to shout about.

I will try getting a hold of Orange on Monday, hopefully I won't get through to the inept support staff they seem to have in foreign climes.

So now that I am back on-line I thought I would start writing here again.

Since my last post I have moved in to and partially decorated the house too, I have someone coming tomorrow to look at some plastering that needs to be done.

I am on-line with Orange broadband and and have had a pretty interesting time getting on-line. I was told in the shop that I would see a minimum of an 8 meg connection, but I know that I will be more likely to see 2 meg. I am connecting using the Orange Livebox and thus can check the online diagnostics and at the moment I am looking at them and they read like this.

Attainable download rate (kbps): 1216
Downstream Rate (kbps): 1056
Upstream Rate (kbps): 448

Now the upstream rate is solid and has been since day one, but the downstream rate has been falling steadily.

I am going to reset the livebox, apparently this is easy to do.
